A champion boxer has appeared in court accused of assaulting two men outside a fast food restaurant.

Jimmy Mizon, 24, of Tadworth, Surrey, is accused of attacking the two men outside Dallas Chicken and Ribs in Sutton High Street early on December 3.

Mr Mizon, undefeated in the Queensbury boxing league, where he held the welterweight crown, pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault by beating at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on December 12.

He will now face trial on April 20 at the same court.

A police spokesman said: “On Saturday, December 3, at 2.40am, police were called to a disturbance outside Dallas Chicken, in High Street, Sutton.

“Police received the call via the Shop Safe radio system, which connects licensed premises, business and retailers to Sutton’s town centre police officers and the control room at Sutton police station.”

Mr Mizon was arrested following the incident.

An alleged incident captured on CCTV is due to be shown at the trial, while two police officers will also be giving evidence.

Mr Mizon was given conditional bail until his trial.

He is not to contact one of his alleged victims, Jonathon Wilde.

The other alleged victim has not been identified.
