Police engaged in a five-and-a-half hour stand off with a woman claiming to have explosives yesterday.
The officers were called to an address in Warham Road, South Croydon, at 4.30pm, and a cordon was put around the building involved.
Firefighters from Croydon and New Addington were also called to the scene just before 7pm and were kept on standby.
A police spokesman said: "We spoke to the woman and she was detained for mental assessment.
"The incident was finished just after 10pm."
