Police have re bailed a man in his 40s in connection with a serious assault outside the Gander Inn in November.
The man, in his late 40's will return to Sutton Police station next month following an appeal for witnesses by the police.
Two men were involve in the fight on St Dunstan’s Hill, Sutton, on Saturday November 26 at around 8.00pm.
A man, aged 50, popped outside the main doors of the pub for a cigarette when he was joined by another man who attacked him.
The victim, who lives in Sutton, suffered serious head injuries and was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital.
Detective Constable Paul Williams, of Sutton CID, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who saw the altercation outside the premises. I also want to hear from anyone who was in The Gander Inn or was walking or driving by on the A217 at around this time."
