A catering company has pledged to banish the stigma of burger vans by bringing gourmet food to the street.
The Street Deli opened on Tuesday, January 17, outside Sainsbury’s Homebase in Walton.
Co-owner Scott Bing said food would be served from a trailer but would be freshly prepared and cooked in front of customers, with cooking demonstrations for those keen to master the grill.
He said; “Good food doesn’t have to cost a lot and we’re here to show people how they can cook really nice, fresh food, for themselves.
“It’s all really simple stuff that people can watch and do at home.”
Deli wraps will be the main attraction, but bread will be made in front of people and speciality suppliers mean unusual ingredients such as sumac will be used.
