A man is to avoid a jail sentence for assaulting his former girlfriend by pulling out a clump of her hair and pushing her in to a Christmas tree after a row over comments posted on Facebook.
Daniel Kelly, 34, of Mullards Close, Hackbridge, who had anger management problems, attacked the woman after a row on December 30 last year.
At Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 12, Kelly pleaded guilty to assault by beating.
He was told by magistrates when he is sentenced next month, he would receive a high level community penalty, but not be jailed.
