Police have arrested at least six people after a fight erupted between school pupils at a retail estate.

Officers were called to the Colonnades Leisure Park at around 4pm today after a fight involving up to 50 secondary school pupils erupted.

An eye witness who did not want to be named said: "There were about 30 kids in total all wearing school uniforms.

"There was around 13 to start with fighting with sticks and then there just became more. They were aged about 13-15 years old.

"They moved over to the field and then they came back and by that time the police had arrived.

"They were fighting for about 10 minutes before the police came, some got arrested, I didn't know what was going on."

Another eyewitness who declined to be named added: "I just saw the police, there was loads of them. I saw a big group of kids fighting they were all wearing uniform but I don't know what school."

Police remain at the scene and enquiries continue.
