Actress Meryl Streep has scooped a Golden Globe award for her performance as Margaret Thatcher, in a new production partly filmed in Colliers Wood.

The Iron Lady, which was released earlier this month, casts the Oscar winner as Britain's first female prime minister.

On Sunday night Streep was named as the best performer in a drama motion picture at the Golden Globes - the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's annual ceremony honouring film and television success.

The film - which also stars Jim Broadbent and Olivia Colman - was partly filmed at Wimbledon Studios in Deer Park Road, Colliers Wood.
