Police have taken action at the request of residents fed up with speeding motorists whizzing through their roads.
A Walton neighbourhood panel meeting set speeding on the town as one of the policing targets and officers have taken to Manor Road, Terrace Road and Sidney Road to combat the problem.
Speed enforcement was set up to deter speeding drivers and deal with those not adhering to the laws of the road.
PC Ian Madelin said: “Over a four-and-a-half hour period, I am pleased to report that our appearance at the roadside seemed to have a positive effect on motorists' behaviour, with nobody caught exceeding the speed limit.
“Two drivers spotted not wearing a seatbelt were given appropriate words of advice. We will continue to do speed enforcement checks at various locations to ensure that motorists are taking heed of speed limits."
PC Madelin is now working to establish whether residents would like to set up a voluntary community speed watch in the roads.
Speeding is also a focus of Drive Smart, the police’s joint campaign with Surrey County Council.
