Tributes have been paid to a Mitcham teenager stabbed to death on Boxing Day.

Seydou Diarrassouba, 18, was stabbed in the heart in the Foot Locker store on Oxford Street as the area was packed with shoppers.

A Facebook page has attracted messages from friends and former classmates - one of whom said he was a pupil at Rutlish School in Merton Park.

Zariya Shouler said: "I went to primary school with Seydou. He was the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. So gentle and kind. He always stood up for me as well...

"I miss those days. It's so true, you never know what you have until it's gone. I'll never forget him. RIP Seydou."

Yadah Thompson said: "you will always be in my heart, in my mind is jus memories of u replaying over and over. love you so much, rest in perfect peace."

Mr Diarrassouba died at about lunchtime on Monday, on the pavement outside the shop where he was attacked. A Post mortem examination has found he was killed by a single stab wound to the heart.

This morning Met Police said 11 people had been arrested in relation to the stabbing, and all remained in custody.

Police have not confirmed that a second knife attack on Oxford Street a few hours later was linked to Mr Diarrassouba's death.
