Festive entrepreneurs will try to rustle up some last-minute Christmas trade when they pack out Epsom Market Place tomorrow, Sunday.

The local enterprise market will be held between 10am and 4pm on Sunday, December 18.

Epsom and Ewell council claimed that new traders would make the market one of the biggest held for many years.

Councillor Neil Dallen, chairman of the strategy and resources committee said: “We are thrilled so many new local traders, businesses and entrepreneurs took part in the last local enterprise market and we hope to see them again this Sunday, along with our regular stallholders.

“Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is proud of its market heritage and we are all committed to creating a more vibrant and buoyant commercial centre in Epsom town centre.”

The market will trade on the last Sunday of every month, apart from December, with the council providing a trading space along with a supportive environment to start a new venture.

There will be no charge for pitch rental until April 2012, when a nominal charge will be levied, but the council asks that prospective traders are residents or local business rate payers, can provide a stall suitable for trading and have valid public liability insurance.
