Police mascot PC Lee and a vintage Land Rover joined the fun at the second Christmas Fayre at Herne Hill overground station.

The fayre had its very own Santa’s grotto and 35 stalls selling culinary delights, crafts and gifts.

There were also carol singers to provide a musical overtone and animals from Dean City Farm.

The event, on Saturday, December 10, saw police help to launch Business Watch, which will see local businesses work together against thieves and other crimes.

The Herne Hill safer neighbourhood team (SNT) also used the event to hand out tamper proof screws to prevent theft of vehicle licence plates, property marking kits to help recover stolen property, tax disc holders, panic alarms and offer bike marking.

Sergeant Dodd from Herne Hill SNT said: "This was a great engagement opportunity. The event was well attended, which gave us the opportunity to impart crime prevention advice and gain valuable information relating to the Herne Hill Ward".
