A woman whose car collided with a lamppost early this morning has been taken to hospital with neck and chest pains.

The 62 year old crashed just before 6am this morning, Saturday, December 17, in Lavender Hill.

Battersea firefighters cut the roof and a door off her silver Vauxhall Astra to allow an ambulance crew to take her out on a spinal board.

Watch manager David Waterman said the road was not busy and the surface was not icy or treacherous.

A London Ambulance spokeswoman said: “We were called just before 6am, to reports of a road traffic collision involving one car at Lavender Hill.

“We sent one ambulance crew who treated a 62-year-old woman who was taken as a priority to St George’s hospital with neck and chest pain.”

She added that the woman was fully conscious and breathing.
