London’s oldest morris dancing club will be in action on Boxing Day for its annual performance in Wimbledon Village.
Greensleeves Morris Men, based in Haydons Road, Wimbledon, will perform at 12.15pm opposite the Rose and Crown pub and again at 1.15pm outside the Hand in Hand and Crooked Billet.
Chris Benson, who was elected a year ago to lead the group as its squire, said several new members had joined in the past few months.
The audience will also be invited to sing a carol for the dancing and watch the performance of the Wimbledon Mummer’s play.
The group, founded in 1926, practise every Friday, from 8pm to 10pm, at South Wimbledon Community Centre.
