Patients at St Peter’s Hospital will be treated to a range of festive delights over Christmas.
Catering contractor OCS Group, is responsible for serving about 800 traditional Christmas lunches, which includes turkey and all the trimmings, as well as donating patient hampers to all the wards.
In total some 3,500 items will be delivered to the hospital, with such seasonal produce as satsuma, mince pies, shortbread and cranberry juice, not to mention an abundance of Christmas crackers and Christmas napkins.
In total they serve in excess of 150kg of potatoes and vegetables for the Christmas lunches.
OCS contract manager Jurri Christiaans said: “My staff and I are delighted to have this opportunity to make the experience of those people unfortunate enough to be spending Christmas in hospital as enjoyable as possible. “The staff take great pride and joy in serving the Christmas meals to patients and it is a job they love because the patients are always so incredibly grateful. “ The League of Friends at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals distribute presents to all inpatients on Christmas Eve.
