Over £1m is to be spent reducing traffic congestion in Clapham Junction town centre, with road layout improvements and better lighting.
The upgrade is part of £4.7m on transport improvements in Wandsworth announced today by the Mayor of London.
New pedestrian areas will also be created, whilst £210, 000 will go towards promoting cycling in the borough.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson said: "London is undergoing a neo-Victorian level of investment in its transport network.
"Every London borough is receiving money that will directly benefit communities, making London an even better place to live and work."
The funding has been allocated by Transport for London to make roads safer, smooth traffic flow and rejuvenate town centres as part of the Mayor's Transport Strategy.
Other projects which were carried out in Wandsworth this year include the Brighton Yard entrance to Clapham Junction station, which had not been used for over 50 years.
