A garden centre promises to donate £200 to charity for the safe return of a stolen elf.

Chippy the charity Christmas elf usually greets customers in the entrance to the Woodcote Green garden centre, in Wallington, along with his friend and fellow elf, Rusty.

However, the elf was stolen on Tuesday, December 6, and the garden centre’s CCTV appears to show a group of women unplugging the elf and removing him from the store.

The garden centre has now produced posters begging for Chippy’s safe return and promising to donate £200 to divide between Help for Heroes and Rescuer should he be found.

Manager Phil Barnden said: “Any help would be much appreciated; lots of children are becoming concerned for Chippy’s welfare and safe return.”
