Laugh away those New Year blues at Sandown Park Racecourse when Comedy at the Races returns on the first weekend in January.

The venue is hosting three comedians from the Comedy Store on Saturday, January 7.

The highlight on the racecard will be the Grade 1 32Red Hurdle, won last year by Minella Class.

Sean Meo, Paul Tonkinson and Steve Hughes will round off the day’s horseracing at the Esher course.

All the acts have appeared in Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow on BBC 1 and Mr Tonkinson has also been awarded Time Out’s comedian of the year award.

Last year’s tickets sold out, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets booked cost £15 for grandstand and £20 for premier, with a £5 comedy show supplement.

Gates open at 11am, the first race is at 1pm and the comedy starts at 4.15pm.
