MP for Epsom and Ewell, Chris Grayling was on hand to light up a nursing home in Ashtead last week.
Residents watched from the window at Redhouse Nursing Home in Ashtead as their Christmas lights were turned on for the first time.
Mr Grayling said: “It was a really nice event.
“They have some really pretty Christmas lights which add a bit of festive atmosphere and it’s also something that’s exciting for the grand children and great grandchildren who come to visit.
“All the residents were sitting watching from the window as it was much too cold to get everyone outside.”
