An 86-year-old woman has died following a road traffic accident in Tulse Hill.
The incident happened at about 1pm on Station Rise at the corner with Christchurch Road.
Ambulance crews and an air ambulance were called to the scene but it is thought the pensioner died shortly afterwards.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.08pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
“We sent a single responder in a car, an air ambulance and an ambulance to Station Rise, but sadly an 80-year-old woman was confirmed to have died.”
Road closures are now in place and traffic is being diverted onto Norwood Road, with bus routes 2, 68, 196, 201, 322, 415, 432, 468 and P13 all being affected.
