A woman cyclist has collided with a car at the junction of Croydon Road and Nicholas Road, Beddington this morning.

The woman, 39, crashed with a black Honda and was treated for leg and arm injuries at the scene by ambulance crew members after the incident at around 11.30am.

She has been taken to Croydon University Hospital.

Croydon Road has been closed from the junction with Plough Lane to the west and Purley Way to the east until 1pm but has now been reopened.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 11.25am to reports of a collision involving a car and a cyclist near the junction of Croydon Rd and Nicholas Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew and single responder in a car to the scene, with the first of our staff arriving within five minutes.

"There was one patient, a woman reported to be 39 years old. She was conscious, but had sustained leg and arm injuries. She was treated and stabilised at the scene, including being given pain-relieving drugs, before being taken as a priority to Croydon University Hospital."
