Shoppers are being encouraged to keep it local in the run up to Christmas.
Streatham High Road has launched the campaign highlighting the shopping opportunities on residents’ doorsteps.
Streatham town centre manager Angelina Purcell MBE said: “We are very excited about this new campaign as it will bring focus back to the high street.
"It’s about highlighting our array of unique, vibrant and quirky collection of smaller shops as well as the superstores we all know and love”
“The Keep It Local campaign has the full support of the High Road retailers.
“And I am confident that the traders will be working hard to make this the best shopping experience ever”. On Sunday, December 17 there will be events held by some of the 700 independent retailers and specialist shops.
Campaign organiser and local resident Mel Larsen said “I am passionate about Streatham and by shopping locally residents and visitors will not only be supporting the local economy but will help build loyalty and community spirit, especially needed in light of the recent riots”.
