Leatherhead's renaissance under Richard Brady continues to amaze as the Tanners finally got themselves off the foot of the Ryman Premier League.

Sunday's 2-1 win at Hendon, courtesy of Kev Terry and Mark Simmons goals, lifted Brady's men to third bottom and took his tally to six points from three league games since taking over from Mick Sullivan last month.

But the former Sittingbourne boss believes it is a just a stepping stone to where he and his squad want to be.

"We will be a little bit more excited when we are out of the bottom four but we will take being off bottom for the short term," he said.

"The players are well tuned in with where we want to be and we are not talking about relegation or staying up.

"I know it is a cliche but we are just taking each game as it comes.

"But there is no point patting each other on the back as if the league finished now we would be down."

The Tanners latest win came despite missing talismatic front men Tommy Hutchings, through suspension, and Greg Andrews, who is in Antigua getting married and enjoying his honeymoon for another week.

Brady has though added Billy Manners to his squad having signed him from Sittingbourne, where he had returned following a short spell at Met Police.

"Billy did well for us on Saturday and he is a very good player I know from Sittingbourne," added Brady, whose side go to Harrow Borough on Saturday.

"We didn't start very well against Hendon and were sloppy but we got back in the game and Terry scored a very good goal."
