A group of children’s authors are launching a creative writing magazine for children this month.

The 16-and-unders’ magazine, ShoutAbout!, has been created by members of the Children’s Writers and Illustrators in South London (CWISL).

This is not the first time CWISL have encouraged young people’s writing talents, having previously been responsible for ShoutSouth!, a writing festival hosted at London South Bank University in which 240 children from South London engaged in three days of creative writing and illustrating workshops.

The magazine, comprised largely of submissions from young contributors - many from Wandsworth, will be issued three times a year and will act as a talent showcase for young creative writers and illustrators. The magazine will be split into two sections: one will feature new stories, comic-strips, drawings and news items from contributors, with the other consisting of discussion about writing, competitions, suggestions and advice from parents, teachers and librarians.
