A teenager from Carshalton has received 20 months’ detention in a young offender institution for his part in the violent disorder in Sutton High Street in August.
Scott Valero, 19, from Meadow Lane, Carshalton, was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on October 24, after pleading guilty to violent disorder.
He was caught on CCTV as part of a group who were present throughout the evening as the disorder broke out and continued. He was part of the disturbances outside Asda on August 8, at 11pm.
He was seen to throw objects at several premises as well as bottles at police officers.
Valero was arrested in Mitcham on August 18, and charged the following day with violent disorder.
