A woman who sank her husband's £75,000 yacht by drilling holes in it has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Mandy Fleming had planned to have a threesome on the yacht with her boyfriend David Brown, from Carshalton in 2004.

After seeing how much her husband had clearly spent on the vessel, Fleming turned on the gas taps and drilled holes in the bottom of it.

Police found an entry in the 47-year-old's diary that read: "Lost it, got drill and sunk boat. Now I am in s**t."

Fleming of Sheerness, Kent, admitted criminal damage last month.

Old Bailey Judge Richard Hone said: "You were a manipulative, angry and troubled individual."

Earlier, charges of plotting with Mr Brown to kill her husband with another man, Bradley Hanson from Wallington were dropped.

The case collapsed after a police supergrass Gary Eaton was deemed an unreliable witness.
