A ladies’ luncheon has raised more than £2,500 for Sam Beare Hospice.
The mayoress of Elmbridge, Councillor Mary Sheldon, held the lunch at Woodlands Park Hotel, Stoke D’Abernon, on Monday, September 26.
Elmbridge resident Michael Aspel attended as a guest speaker and gave an account of his career, which he began as a newsreader before presenting favourites such as This is Your Life and the Antiques Roadshow.
More than 70 people attended the lunch, including past mayors and mayoresses.
The money will be used to help the Weybridge hospice maintain its services and care for seriously ill people.
