Eleven of the men and women who strive to make Croydon Town Centre a safer place have been honoured at an awards ceremony.
The inaugural Town Centre Crime Prevention Awards honoured those crime and anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
Fiona Woodcock, the market inspector for Croydon Council, received a special award for her vigilance and partnership support.
Fiona, who is responsible for Surrey Street Market, said: “I am delighted to win this award – this really is a surprise. I would like to thank all of the shopkeepers, market traders and the police because, without what you do, I could not do what I do. This crime prevention partnership really works.”
Marks & Spencer’s CCTV and Security Team won the award for best CCTV team for their excellence in identifying suspects, and their work in support of crime prevention agencies.
The awards are run by Croydon’s business crime reduction partnership (CBCP), a Croydon BID initiative.
