A teenager who smashed a shop window and hurled a bottle at police during a night of disorder and violence in Sutton Town Centre has been sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders’ institute.
Charlie Etheridge, 18, of Broomloan Lane, Sutton, pleaded guilty to a charge of violent disorder in the High Street on August 8.
At about 11.30pm, he smashed a shopping trolley into an Argos window and hurled a brick at the window of the same shop.
He was also seen to throw a bottle at police officers while in a group of about 20 people.
He was identified by a police officer monitoring the Sutton Council funded CCTV system in the control room at Sutton Police station.
The teenager was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, October 7.
