Julian Speroni: 6 – Wasn’t at fault for the goal and didn’t really have another save to make all game.

Peter Ramage: 7 – Your bread and butter. Won’t get forward like Moxey but a solid defender and good in the air. Had a good game.

Patrick McCarthy: 7 – Again, couldn’t fault him for the deflection. Threw himself in front of another Jon Oster shot late on to deflect it over. Dealt with Parkin well.

Aleksander Tunchev: 7 – Solid. Didn’t really do much wrong alongside Paddy.

Dean Moxey: 6 – Good going forward but looked a little shaky against Milan Lalkovic when he came on as a sub. Still shows plenty of passion though and an asset on the break.

David Wright: 6 – Huffed and puffed. Never afraid to put a tackle in but him and Jedinak both do similar jobs.

Mile Jedinak: 5 – Not the best performance. Gave away possession far too cheaply. Would flourish next to someone like Garvan but ultimately him and Wright were doing the same things yesterday.

Darren Ambrose: 5 – Not the Ambrose we know. Good set pieces but went missing too often in open play.

Wilfried Zaha: 8 – Despite Dean Saunders saying that George Friend dealt with Zaha, I very much disagree. Had the beating of their full back several times and put some good crosses into the box. Is getting better and better and is exciting to watch.

Glenn Murray: 7 – Faded late on but had our best chances. Should have won a penalty and was generally a nuisance for Doncaster. His running forced their centre backs into several errors.

Sean Scannell: 6 – A quiet game for Sean. A lot of effort but didn’t have much time on the ball and didn’t get many chances.

Subs:

Jonathan Williams (Wright, 76): 6 – Only on for a short while. Couple of heavy touches at first but a marvellous run into the box near the end shows that this latest academy starlet has some class.

Jermaine Easter (Scannell, 62): 6 – Should have maybe got a penalty and offers plenty of industry but didn’t really do much of note.
