If prizes were awarded for throwing games away when the opposition should have been dead and buried more times than the expendable extras in Midsomer Murders, then this one would be up there with the very best of them!

Casuals had this game by the throat for 75 minutes and could have been seven or eight clear by the time the late Hillians surge began.

Danny Green played a sweet fifth-minute ball through to Kane Sergeant and from a pretty horrible angle on the left he made Andre Foster produce the first of several fine saves.

A Sergeant free kick on 10 minutes picked out a flying Chris Horwood but his header sped narrowly wide.

The lead was eventually claimed in the 18th minute, starting from a Green free kick on the Casuals right.

Jamie Byatt leapt into a spectacular volley, Foster produced another fine save, but as the ball bobbled around the six yard box Tom Edmonds sliced into his own net under severe pressure from James Holden.

The half finished with the Hillians lucky to only be one down as Dunne hit the base of Fosters left hand post.

Byatt was enjoying himself running Edmonds ragged and he left his opponent floundering with a neat step inside but sadly the finish was wayward.

The second half continued in much the same vain. Rico Morris fed Jamie Byatt down the left and another cross-shot slipped past the far post. Craig Dunne persisted with his own one-man war against goal posts when for the fourth time in two matches he sent a 20 yard shot against the Hillains upright.

Casuals' second arrived in the 62nd minute. Dunne chipped a nice ball through for Byatt to chase and he finished in style past the advancing Foster from the edge of the box.

Gary Croydon, in search of some inspiration, sent on the huge figure of Kevin Joyce and he immediately made the Casuals rearguard look nervous with his powerful running.

In a sign of what was to come, Horwood had to be alert to scramble the ball clear from under his own bar.

Hillians riding of their luck surpassed itself in the 73rd minute.

Sargeant sped down the left and crossed for the onrushing Green. He was beaten to it by Glen Matten who only succeeded in lashing the ball toward his own goal, but miraculously the ball struck the Hillians keeper square in the chest before he had time to move a muscle and bounced to safety.

With Casuals lining up the next wave of attacks, a long cross field ball picked out Ashley Jarvis in acres of space and he crossed for Joyce to nudge home from 6 yards in the 75th minute.

The stunned crowds amazement turned to horror three minutes later when Joyce headed home Pulling's corner. Two shots, two goals.

Alfie Amponsa-Bonsu and Byatt both struck drives over the bar as Casuals tried to regain the lead but Hillians now looked like they could snatch a winner too.

Neil Watts put a free header wide from a corner as the match became real edge of the seat stuff for the last ten minutes.

A terrific Sargeant run and cross was just foiled by Foster as Byatt lurked dangerously and Dunne, Casuals player if the match, also had a chance for glory but saw his drive cannon back off Fosters knees.

Joyce had a chance to steal all three points in injury time but blazed a left foot volley high and wide when clean through.

That would have been taking injustice a step too far as the Hillians has already pulled of the greatest piece of daylight robbery since the days of Dick Turpin.
