Fire crews managed to avoid an explosion when a fire started in a stable in Coulsdon on Sunday.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters from crews in Purley and the surrounding area were called to the blaze at the stable in Richland Avenue just after 7pm on Sunday evening.
Half of the single-storey stable was damaged by the blaze and three propane gas cylinders had to be cooled by the firefighters in order to avoid an explosion.
One man who left the building before the fire crews arrived was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
The fire was under control by just after 9pm.
