Two men and one woman from Wandsworth were jailed for a total of 18 years at Kingston Crown Court on Friday, July 15, for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Nathaniel Gaynes, 19, of Elmbourne Road, SW17, Chad Burton, 21, of Fawcett Close, SW11 and Tenika Brown, 18, of Dunston Road, SW17 were arrested following an intelligence led operation by the London Crime Squad on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

Burton and Gaynes were seen by police parking Burton's Vauxhall Astra outside a kebab shop on Wandsworth Road and going inside the shop where Tenika Brown later arrived in a mini cab.

Brown switched cars and was seen getting in to the front passenger seat of Burton's Vauxhall Astra.

When she left the car she had a brief conversation with Burton and Gaynes before getting back in to the mini cab which drove off with Burton and Gaynes following behind in the Astra.

Police swooped on the cars recovering half a kilo of heroin with a street value of £18,000 and arrested all three.

After searching Brown’s home address officers found two smaller bags of heroin as well as some cash.

Acting detective inspector, John Harrison from the London Crime Squad, said: "We are pleased with the sentencing today and see it as an excellent example of officers from across the MPS working together to tackle drug crime in London.

"The London Crime Squad, officers from Wandsworth and officers from Operation Trident were working in conjunction to detect and arrest these perpetrators.

"The operation involved covert and overt tactics and is another example of the dedication of the London Crime Squad to bring offenders to justice."

Nathaniel Gaynes was sentenced to eight years imprisonment, Chard Burton was sentenced to six years imprisonment and Tenika Brown was sentenced to four years imprisonment.
