Green-fingered residents have been nurturing everything from marrows to tulips in eager anticipation of today’s annual Claygate Flower and Village Show.
The event, held on the third Saturday of July every year, has been a regular feature in Claygate for more than 100 years.
Residents have been invited to grow fruit and vegetables for traditional competitions, prepare cakes and jams for afternoon tea and arrange flowers for the event.
The show, held at Claygate Recreation Ground from 1.30pm, combines competition with exhibition, allowing everyone the chance to enjoy the creativity of the local community and the great natural environment.
This year’s show will feature farm animals, who have been noticeably absent in recent years, classic cars and even a dog show.
