A parking enforcement car has been snapped parked on double yellow lines.

A Streatham resident, who did not want to be identified, snapped a Lambeth parking enforcement car in Greyhound Lane, off Streatham High Road, parked on double yellow lines.

He claimed the car was parked there “most days of the week” and it should not be allowed to do so.

He said: “It’s outrageous that they go around giving parking fines to other drivers who park illegally, but they break the law themselves.

“Almost every day of the week this same enforcement car parks here, on double yellow lines. If no one else can park there, why are they above the law?”

A Lambeth Council spokesman, said: "Civil enforcement officers can park on yellow lines for the purposes of parking and traffic enforcement, which is what the drivers are doing in these pictures.

"They can park on yellow lines for as long as required to carry out their public duties and always do so safely while giving full consideration to other road users."
