A school is heading up the charts thanks to a glowing report.
Melrose School in Church Road, Mitcham, which teaches pupils with behavioural problems, has seen its rating boosted to “good” by Government inspectors who praised its care and guidance for pupils and links with parents and carers.
The news means all three of Merton’s special educational needs schools – Melrose, St Ann’s in Morden and Cricket Green in Mitcham – are rated good or outstanding by Ofsted.
Headteacher Steve Childs said his school was committed to helping pupils achieve academically and make a positive impact on their community.
He said: “I am extremely proud of Melrose School and what we have achieved over the last three years.
“Providing quality education for our pupils is a team effort, relying on the dedication of the staff and the involvement of the parents and carers.”
