Archers are aiming to hit the target to bring themselves closer to a place on Great Britain’s team for the London 2012 Olympics.

Surrey Archery Weekend attracts competitors from across South East England including paralympians and current GB team members, who are looking to improve their rankings ahead of the games.

The athletes, whose ages range from ten to over 80, are recurve archers, meaning they use the Olympic style of bow.

Visitors can enjoy the tournament which will take place at Tolworth Court, Kingston University’s sports ground in Old Kingston Road on July 16 and 17.

The university’s new pavilion includes a balcony that provides spectators a view over all the action.

Parking is available on site and the event will run on both days between 10am and 4pm.
