Residents can try out a variety of sports for free this weekend.

Sutton Arena is hosting the Active at the Arena festival on July 16 and 17.

People can try their hands at over 20 activities, including a climbing wall, trampolining and new dance craze zumba, as well as tennis, cycling and gym activities. The festival will help to encourage residents to keep fit by fitting regular exercise into their routines.

There will also be health advice from Sutton and Merton PCT and complimentary health therapies from Scola.

Councillor Graham Tope, executive member for community safety, leisure and libraries, said: “The Active at the Arena festival is a great opportunity to try out some new activities and see if there’s anything that you enjoy.”

Events will take place on Saturday from 10.30am to 4pm, and Sunday from noon to 4pm.
