More than 200 year 11 school leavers braved last week’s rain to see Choice FM DJ Kojo Mante speak at young people’s day.

The MTV presenter and comedian was special guest at the event, held by Lambeth College on Thursday, July 7, to showcase its sixth form to current offer holders.

The Hackney native gave a speech to those attending the 1970s themed barbecue at the college, describing his own experience of studying and working hard to achieve his goals and urging teenagers to aim high when they start at the college in September.

He then mingled with the guests before holding a DJ workshop and taking part in a dance-off with staff.

Paul Chambers, head of student performance at Lambeth College, said: “Today has been a huge success and gave our young people a taste of what they can expect when they start at Lambeth College in September.

“Kojo was a huge hit with the students. We may have to offer him a job here.”
