A 20-year-old girl from Kenley has died while on holiday on Ibiza.

Jodie Nieman, who was on holiday with friends, is reported to have collapsed at an Ibiza nightclub in the early hours of this morning after a suspected ecstasy overdose.

Paramedics were called at 4.30am and tried to revive the nail technician but she had died by the time she got to A&E.

Friends are said to have told police she had taken ecstasy the night before she died. Authorities said they are waiting on the results of a postmortem.

Miss Nieman worked at LA Fitness in Croydon two years ago and for Nails To Be Seen in Warlingham.

A police spokesman from the Spanish island said: "We can confirm that we are investigating the death of a 20-year-old woman after she was taken ill at a nightclub in the Playa d'en Bossa area of Ibiza.

"We are aware of reports that she had taken ecstasy but this is something that the autopsy will determine."

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Ibiza in the early hours of this morning and are providing consular assistance to the family."
