A teenager has been charged with the robbery of a gold necklace on July 11.

The 17-year-old was arrested during an Operation Target patrol after reports of a robbery at 11.15am on Monday.

An 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the incident.

The 18-year-old was released without charge, but the other boy was charged yesterday and is due to appear at Croydon Youth Court today.

DS Simon French from Croydon's Robbery Squad said: "Robbery is one of the crimes that is the focus of Operation Target here in Croydon. We're conduction patrols in the areas we know robbers are operating and having the assistance of officers from units like the DPG is making a real impact on the streets."
