A man who walked into a Croydon bar and glassed a customer in the neck in an unprovoked attack has been jailed for three and a half years.
Steven Smyth, 39, of Streatham, was handed the sentence for grievous bodily harm when he appeared at Croydon Crown Court last week.
The court heard Smyth walked into The Edge nightclub in London Road, Norbury, in July last year, walked up to a man at the bar and glassed him in the neck.
Smyth was detained by the club's bar staff as his victim lay on the floor holding a blood soaked towel to his wound.
The victim was taken to Mayday Hospital where he had surgery and was left with 34 stitches in the neck.
