Residents are being encouraged to have their say about a proposed new cricket pitch.

East Molesey Cricket Club, with the support of Surrey County Cricket Club, want to open the pitch on Hurst Meadow, in Hurst Road, East Molesey, which they said would relieve pressure on the club’s current pitch as well as accommodate planned expansions to support a growing membership, women’s team and disabled players.

Elmbridge Council, who owns Hurst Meadow, has now opened a public consultation for people to give their views on the scheme.

An online questionnaire is available at elmbridge.gov.uk, or people can call the council’s leisure and cultural services team on 01372 474568 to ask for a paper questionnaire.

Questionnaires must be completed and returned by Friday, July 29.
