Thieves broke into a mobile phone shop in Epsom last night escaping with mobile phones, laptops and computer equipment. Two men gained entry to the Carphone Warehouse, High Street, shortly after 11pm on July 11 and began removing items from the shelves including various demo mobile phones, two laptops and six Xbox Kinetic kits.

The stolen goods were loaded into a silver Audi TT and escaped along the A24 towards Leatherhead, despite police arriving within minutes.

The first burglar was wearing a dark coloured top while the second was wearing a grey hooded top with the hood up and dark trousers.

Investigating officer, detective constable Simon Evans said: “This was clearly a planned burglary where the suspects knew exactly what they wanted and how to quickly get away from the scene.

“We are already following up a number of lines of enquiry including potential forensic opportunities on equipment left at the scene by the burglars.

“I am urging members of the public to come forward and help us out with the names of those responsible for this burglary.

“I also want to hear from anyone who is offered a laptop for sale or Xbox equipment as they may have originated from this burglary.”
