On Thursday 7 July staff, family and friends will be attending an Awards Ceremony at Carshalton College to celebrate the achievements of students from the Life and Work Skills Courses.

The awards will be presented in Nightingales Restaurant by Principal David Watkins from 1.00pm to 2.30pm with 20 learners receiving nominations for awards.

It is the second year the awards have taken place and it is also an opportunity to congratulate the learners on their determination with students progressing onto mainstream education at Carshalton College and other local education providers. They will continue studying and learning skills in hairdressing, beauty, motor vehicle repair and art and design.

Sally McGuire, SLD Team Leader and all tutors are looking forward to sharing this exciting occasion.

Sally also said “We are thrilled to be able to celebrate our student’s achievements, however small. Each little stepping stone is an achievement and all students have overcome the obstacles with their moderate and severe learning difficulties to move forward and make strives towards learning independent living skills. This further develops all areas of the students learning and help to equip them with the necessary skills to support them in working towards becoming and independent adult.”
