Thieves got away with two tractors following a burglary at a farm.

The criminals got into the farm in Portsmouth Road, Cobham, at some time between 11pm on Friday, June 24, and 5am on Saturday, June 25.

They took from the barn a red Foton 404 tractor, with a black line down the middle of the bonnet, valued at about £9,000, and a smaller red Foton 254 tractor, worth £6,000.

They also stole a hedge cutter, designed to be attached to a tractor, valued at more than £3,500.

Detective Suzy Marten, leading the investigation, said the burglary must have been carefully planned by the perpetrators.

She said: “This was an unusual offence where two high value tractors have been stolen overnight.

“The theft of the tractors had clearly been carefully planned and it would seem likely that a number of suspects would have been involved to move two large items without alerting the occupants of the farm.

“The offenders were clearly prepared to take significant risks to get what they wanted and I feel sure that members of the public would have seen or heard something out of the ordinary when such big vehicles were being taken.

“The vehicles are rare in models in this country and I would urge anyone who knows where they are being stored or who may have been offered the chance to purchase a tractor second-hand to contact police immediately.”
