Jamal Edwards, a successful young entrepreneur, will speak about his experiences at the Oasis Academy Shirley Park.
Edwards, 20, who founded the UK's biggest youth media channel SBtv, will share his story in a bid to encourage the young students. Edwards and his highly successful website, which has had over 50 million hits since its inception four years ago, has already caught the attention of celebrity businessmen Richard Branson and Simon Cowell.
Anietie Eka, the Director of Uncommon (UK) who are putting the event together, said: “We are keen to develop entrepreneurial aspirations for our young people and Jamal's story is a great example of how hard work and inspiration are two invaluable things that go hand in hand in achieving success.”
Uncommon (UK) is due to launch a school in September 2011 which will offer business and entrepreneurial programmes as well as the National Curriculum.
