The Rose Theatre has announced it is cutting 15 per cent of its permanent full-time staff to make savings.
Executive director David Fletcher said consultations arising from a staff review were now complete, and redundancy notices had been handed to four employees.
He was unable to specify which posts would go, nor how much would be saved.
There will also be reductions in the budgets for non-permanent staff, but these would not involve redundancies, he said.
Mr Fletcher said: "Discussions will now begin with those members of staff whose job descriptions will need to change as a result of the staff review."
