Following the success of their 2010 Selhurst to Brighton Charity Walk, a group of Palace fans are pulling on their trainers once again this weekend.

This year’s charity walk will see 15 members of the CPFC BBS website (www.cpfc.org) visiting every League Football club with a London postcode on Saturday and Sunday: the equivalent of two marathons in two days.

The Walk will also take in the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre where the club hope to move in the future.

Michelle Rodger, one of four who finished the whole walk last time, has taken over the organisational duties this time around.

"Despite the aches and blisters, we had a good time last year, with a real sense of personal achievement - as most had never done anything like this before," she said.

"We made some new friends in each other and raised more than £4,000 for the Royal Marsden.

"Before it had even finished, we were planning the next one!

"We are also raising money for a second charity this year - The Pulmonary Hypertension Association - due to the dad of one of the walkers who sadly passed away as a result of this disease.

"His mum also participated in the walk last year by driving a support vehicle carrying and topping up our water supplies and the walking wounded!"

With the walk ending at Selhurst Park, the group are inviting other fans to join them 'Walking Up the Holmesdale Road' or to join in at any stage of the walk.

"It would be fantastic if fans in the area on Sunday evening could come and cheer us home," added Rodger.

"The club are opening Glaziers bar from 5.30pm on the evening of June 12 for our return, where there will be an auction of signed Palace items and a raffle – all fans are welcome to attend."

A twitter account @CPFCwalklondon has been set up so fans can monitor the walkers’ progress and there will also be give updates on www.cpfc.org on the estimated arrival time back at Selhurst on the Sunday evening.

This year, the funds raised will be split between The Royal Marsden Hospital and The Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
