Rehearsals are under way for an all female youth production of Hamlet.
It is one of a number of events the Rose Theatre is hosting during the International Youth Arts Festival (IYAF).
The show, directed by Ciaran McConville, the theatre’s director of learning and participation, shows on July 7 and 9.
Grace Molony, 15, who plays Hamlet, said: “I’m really looking forward to taking on this challenge and playing Hamlet. It’s the biggest role I’ve had and it’s an all female cast which makes it different.
“Rehearsals and sword fighting have been great fun and a so far it’s been an all round great experience that I won’t forget. I’ve seen a few productions at the Rose before, including Nick Shaw playing Hamlet in Northern Broadside’s production and I can’t wait to get on that same stage and perform such a famous character.”
