The council’s cabinet road shows are due to begin this month.

Residents will have the chance to talk to cabinet members and senior council officers about issues they are facing.

The road shows have replaced the neighbourhood partnership meetings which were axed to save £60,000 in administration costs.

Independent chairmen and woman have been asked to preside over the meetings. The cabinet roadshows will be held all over the borough throughout the rest of the year.

Council leader Mike Fisher said: “This is all about taking politics out of the town hall so that more people can play a part in the decision-making process.

“We know that people in Croydon are passionate about public services and we want to further improve the many ways that people can play an active role in what the council does.”

You can register your interest in advance – or just turn up on the night. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. For more information or to register your interest by email communications@croydon.gov.uk or visit www.croydon.gov.uk/questiontime
